LED illumination has many benefits:

  1. Instant OnInstant On – LED light sources achieve full brightness the moment they’re switched on, unlike other low energy illumination technology
  2. Colour GamutRich colour gamut – LED has 50% greater colour gamut than LCD, and offers 115% of the colour gamut of the broadcast standard for NTSC. Christie MicroTiles allows colour temperature to be fine-tuned to match the ambient conditions around an installation.
  3. Brighter ImageHigh Brightness – LED light sources can produce 800 nits (candelas per square metre). This is three times the brightness of LCD displays, and eight times that of Plasma
  4. ReliabilityReliability – with no moving parts such as colour wheels, and no consumables such as lamps to replace, LED illuminated displays offer superb reliability. They are able to run 24/7 for over seven years without failure.
  5. Energy EfficiencyEnergy Efficiency – LED illumination requires a tiny fraction of the power needed to run conventional projection illumination systems, saving you money. DLP Projection

Inside each DMD chip are many tiny mirrors, which correspond to 1 pixel of light in the projected image.  The tiny mirrors tilt towards or away from the light source thousands of times a second to produce up tp 1024 shades of grey.

  2. High ResolutionHigh resolution - In DLP projection, light is reflected off tiny, hinged mirrors called Digital Micro-Mirror Devices. Each DMD delivers a single pixel of the projected image. The space between each pixel is much smaller than with other technologies, enabling DLP to deliver crisp, high resolution imagery.
  3. Colour FidelityColour fidelity - Each DMD, and therefore each pixel, of a DLP image can be individually controlled. This means that DLP can deliver superior colour fidelity that accurately and consistently represents your brand.
  4. Brighter ImageBrighter image - DLP projection is brighter than other technologies. Almost all of the light is reflected out of the projector, making DLP brighter than other display technologies, which tend to absorb light.
